Our Appreciation Minimize

          We at Al-Farooq Mosque would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to all those people who came out to show their support for our community for the past few days. As you might have heard, Our Mosque was a subject of malicious act of vandalism by a handful of hateful xenophobic individuals whose aim was to sow a discord between the peaceful Muslim community in Nashville and the larger resident of Nashville city.

As evident by the outpouring support from people of Nashville of all works of life, these people’s goals have not materialized. Instead the opposite has happened whereby people from different background came to support us. This has confirmed to us what we always believed, that Nashville is a welcoming city.

In particular we will like to express our thanks to those individuals who came to help with the cleaning process on friday morning. Our thanks goes to organizations like the TIRRC (Tennessee Immigration and Refugee Right Coalition), The Office of Mayor in Nashville, the Metro Police Department in Nashville, the FBI, Belmont Univeristy especially the school of Divinity, Vanderbilt University, and the Christian & Jews clergies.

What is islam?

Islam is not a new religion, but the same truth that God revealed through all His prophets to every people. Islam is based on 5 pillars. This Five pillars are:

  • Faith or belief in the Oneness of God and the finality of the prophethood of Muhammad;
  • Establishment of the daily prayers;
  • Concern for and almsgiving to the needy;
  • Self-purification through fasting; and
  • The pilgrimage to Makkah for those who are able.
